Leotard Colors by Level

Required Leotard Colors

If your dancer is in a combined level class (e.g., Ballet 2/3), they may wear either level-appropriate leotard color. Students enrolled in multiple class levels on the same day are not required to change clothes between classes.

Requirements by Class

Ballet

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color
  • Pink footed or convertible ballet tights
  • Thin ballet skirt (optional)
  • Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes
  • Pointe shoes if approved by instructor
  • Hair secured in a bun

Boys (All Levels / Dance Styles)

  • Black pants or shorts
  • Black or white solid T-shirt or tank
  • Shoes by class: Ballet – black ballet shoes · Jazz – black jazz shoes · Tap – black tap shoes · Hip Hop – black sneakers · Combo Classes – both pairs of shoes (black)

Cheer & Pom

  • Form-fitting athletic attire (no specific dress code required)
  • Athletic cheer sneakers
  • Hair pulled back into a ponytail

Combo Classes (Preschool and Leveled)

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color (no large tutus permitted)
  • Bottoms: black leggings, black shorts, pink or skin-toned tights, or a thin ballet skirt (leotard skirt combos OK)
  • Hair secured in a bun or ponytail
  • Shoes by genre: Ballet – pink ballet shoes · Jazz – black jazz shoes · Tap – black tap shoes · Hip Hop – black sneakers

Contemporary and Modern

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color
  • Solid black fitted dance pants, leggings, capris, or black boy shorts with skin-toned footless tights
  • Bare feet
  • Hair secured in a bun or ponytail

Hip Hop

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color
  • Black pants, black leggings, or black athletic shorts
  • Black sneakers
  • Hair secured in a bun or ponytail
  • Hip Hop 4/5: Dancers may wear all black in any style — crop tops, shorts, leggings, or leotards; anything as long as it's all black.

Jazz

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color
  • Solid black fitted dance pants, leggings, capris, or boy shorts and/or skin-toned tights
  • Black jazz shoes
  • Hair secured in a bun or ponytail

Little Kid Hip Hop

  • Solid light pink leotard
  • Solid black fitted dance pants, leggings, capris, or boy shorts
  • Black sneakers
  • Hair secured in a bun or ponytail

Lyrical

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color
  • Solid black fitted shorts, leggings, or dance pants
  • Skin-tone convertible tights
  • Toe Paws
  • Hair securely pulled back (bun or ponytail)

Preschool Ballet

  • Solid light pink leotard (no tutus permitted)
  • Pink footed or convertible ballet tights
  • Thin ballet skirt permitted (leotard skirt combos OK)
  • Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes

Tap

  • Solid leotard in level-appropriate color
  • Solid black fitted dance pants, leggings, capris, or boy shorts and/or skin-toned tights
  • Black tap shoes (hard shank required, no split soles)
  • Hair secured in a bun or ponytail

Yoga

  • Comfortable athletic wear (leotard optional)
  • Bare feet
  • Hair pulled back and off the face
