Taylor Bennett

Taylor Bennett is the Dance Educator at Sanders-Clyde Elementary School and has been dancing and performing for over 20 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston, where she served as President of Dance Alliance and received the Robert Ivey Dance Scholarship, the Clarence Award, the Eliza Ingle Dance Honor, and the Dance Impact Award.

Taylor has trained extensively in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical dance. Her choreography has been presented at the American Collegiate Dance Association, and she has studied at summer intensives including New York University, Indiana University, and the Paul Taylor Summer Intensive. She has also been a company dancer with Annex Dance Company for the past five years, performing and participating in educational outreach throughout the Charleston community.

Before joining Sanders-Clyde, Taylor served as the Education and Outreach Director at Dance Moves of Charleston and spent four summers at Camp Ballibay, where she concluded her time as Head of Dance. Taylor is passionate about using dance to inspire creativity, build confidence, and help every student discover the joy of movement while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
